Track Meets

 
* Athletes AND spectators are required to pay admission at each meet, typically $3 per athlete and $2 per spectator.  Concessions are often available, but are NOT the kind of food recommended for athletes.
 

WHAT TO BRING

  • Uniform, track shoes, flip flops or street shoes
  • Water!
  • Sunscreen
  • Bananas!, fruit, healthy snacks, lunch
  • Pop-up tents, umbrellas, chairs, blanket (think beach!)
  • Cash for admission
 
Field Events typically commence at 8:30 AM and require prior checkin. The rest of the track meet does not adhere to the clock – there are no set times of day for a particular race to start. The progress of the day depends entirely on how many participants are entered. Be prepared to spend the day.
 
Running Events begin as soon as Field Events are complete. However, if the Field Events are lagging behind, the organizers may overlap. Pay attention to the announcements!
 
A Note About Relays - Relay races are run by teams of 4. We will run into the situation where we have 5 or 6 kids wishing to participate. Obviously we have to build relay teams in groups of 4, and we ask your input and cooperation implementing a reasonable protocol to determine which 4 athletes will run.
